What is group registration?

Group registration is a flow that lets one buyer register several attendees in a single transaction, usually with a group rate and one invoice. It covers company teams, national delegations, student groups and exhibitor staff.

One buyer, many attendees

The person paying is often not attending. The record has to separate the buyer, who owns the invoice, from the named attendees, who own the badges — and let the buyer add or change names right up to the day without redoing the payment.

Names arrive late

Groups book early and name people late. A flow that demands every name at checkout either loses the sale or collects placeholders that reach the badge printer. Booking a quantity and collecting names afterwards, with a reminder before the deadline, matches how groups actually work.

Group pricing bands

Price usually steps down by size — five, ten, twenty-five. Applying the band automatically as the quantity changes is both an upsell and a support saving, because nobody has to email asking what the rate is for twelve.
